Could this be your back yard?

If it were... can you imagine the beautiful home and acerage that would come with it. You might think that you could never afford this... but if your income were high enough it would be no problem.

It doesn't matter if your goal is to own beautiful property, put your children and grandchildren through college, or just to have enough coming in that you don't have to worry about the increasing cost of everything... An easy way to get the money is to start allowing the internet to work for you. I have and this website will chronical my efforts. My mistakes will be ones that you do NOT have to make. My successes will be ones that you can copy.

All you need to do is to bookmark this site and come back often to see HOW I am doing... and when you see a good idea... copy it.

There are some thing that you can do to start getting income now... and building on it as we go along. (read on...)

STEP 1. The first thing you should do is set up your initial web presence... your initial website where all of your articles, products, services, and links can go. (By the way - you do not need to have any of these to set yourself up initally. You can add these as you progress.)

Here's what I did... I went to GoDaddy to find a domain name that would represent what i wanted to do. Initially I was interested in learning languages so I chose www.newlanguageresources.com and found it available. (I had to go through about 30 "language" names before I found one that was available... so don't give up! just keep trying different names.) (note: You could decide to get your website name at the same time you get your hosting plan. Sometims you can get the name free if you get your hosting from the same source - see hosting platforms in the main menu.)

Of course the best domain names are .com names but the .info names are much cheaper and not a bad way to start.

Once I had the name, I had to choose a hosting platform. I could have use the GoDaddy Hosting Plan, but I went online and found out that the plans at Host Monster and Host Gator were higher rated, so I went with them. There are still many good hosting platforms available. (Please see Hosting Platforms in the menu above.)

Of course, when you select the hosting platform, you can select the length of program and price based upon your own circumstances. Usually the longer you sign up for, the cheaper the monthly cost is (You pay a one time fee for the period with no further payent needed. the monthly cost is just a way to compare programs.)

If you did not get the domain name at the same place as your hosting platform, once you have selected and activated your account on your host, you need to go to the site where you registered the name ( for me it was GoDaddy ) and then point the DNS entries to your hosting platform... Again, for me I had to point the DNS1 to NS1.hostmonster.com and the second DNS2 to NS2.hostmonster.com. Your hosting platform should send you an email message with this information on it. (remember, if you got your domain name registerd at your host platform site, you do not have to do this step.)

Next, I simply followed the directions with my hosting platform's control panel (CPANEL) to set up my email addresses and any other domains or sub-domains I needed. (more about domains and sub-domains later.)

Once you have all of this compleded... move on to STEP 2. Please note that the hosting platform company is usually pretty good about helping anyone that calls their toll-free technical support number if you need help. This is a valuable resource that can save you much time if you are not shy about using it in the event you are having difficulty
